What Home Coffee Index does
The site turns scattered manufacturer specifications, manuals, UK retailer listings and independent review evidence into comparable answers. Width, workflow, milk method, grinder requirements, ownership effort and dated price checks are kept together so a buyer can see the whole decision—not only the promotional headline.
The database and calculators are original editorial tools. They normalise information that is otherwise described differently by each manufacturer and seller.
What we do not claim
Home Coffee Index does not currently operate a test laboratory and has not personally tested every machine in the database. A page based on desk research is labelled as desk research. We do not turn retailer star ratings into our own experience, and we do not describe a manufacturer claim as an independently measured result.
When hands-on evidence comes from another publication, that publisher remains named and linked. Unknown information stays unknown until a suitable source can verify it.
Who is responsible
Ben Murrell is the site owner and editor. Editorial judgement, corrections and commercial disclosures remain the responsibility of Home Coffee Index. The aim is not to imitate a personal ownership review; it is to make evidence from multiple sources easier to compare.
How the site is funded
Some retailer links are affiliate links. A qualifying purchase may earn Home Coffee Index a commission at no extra cost to the buyer. Affiliate eligibility never sets the score, removes a caution or decides the order of a shortlist. Advertising may be added only after the site meets the relevant publisher requirements.
