Who controls the site
Home Coffee Index is an independent UK publisher operated by Ben Murrell. Use the contact form for privacy requests, corrections or questions.
Optional analytics
If you choose “Accept optional services”, Google Analytics 4 may receive usage information such as pages visited, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, newsletter signups, labelled affiliate clicks and selections of commercial paths. Home Coffee Index uses this information to understand which guides help readers and whether buying routes are useful. Analytics does not load when you choose “Necessary only”.
The configured GA4 property uses measurement ID G-W6XZ2ZTCRS. Google may process information under its own privacy terms. Home Coffee Index does not send payment-card details or coffee-tool answers in these events.
Affiliate measurement
Some retailer links are affiliate links. Amazon links include the Associates tag website103c-21. Skimlinks may convert eligible retailer links and measure referrals only when optional services are accepted. Retailers and affiliate networks may process click, device and transaction-attribution information under their own policies.
Home Coffee Index does not receive a buyer’s card details or retailer password.
No display advertising
Home Coffee Index does not currently load Google AdSense or serve display advertising. If that changes, this notice and the consent system will be updated before any advertising technology is activated.
Contact messages
The contact form creates a draft in your own email application. Your name and message are not stored by this website. Your email provider and the recipient’s email provider process the message when you choose to send it.
Email updates
If you join the Home Coffee Index email list, the site stores the email address you provide, the page where you joined, the consent-policy version, status and signup time. This is used only for requested editorial updates, maintenance reminders and relevant buying or deal alerts.
The postcode entered into the water checker is processed only in your browser and is not stored or sent to the website. Future marketing emails will include an unsubscribe route. You can also request removal at any time through the contact page.
Used marketplace submissions and alerts
A seller submission stores the name, email, equipment description, price, age, condition, service-evidence answer, faults, broad postcode district, handover choice, optional evidence link, consent version, review status and submission time. These details are used to assess the proposed listing and contact the seller. Contact information and a full address are not published.
A buyer alert stores the email address, requested model or equipment, optional budget and postcode area, consent version, status and signup time. It is used only for matching reviewed used-equipment alerts. Home Coffee Index does not process marketplace payments or receive card details.
Morning Coffee Gallery
A gallery submission stores the photograph, display name, drink and brew method, caption, optional machine and broad location, consent-policy version, review status and submission time. If you choose the social-sharing route, it can also store the selected platform, public social handle and public Instagram or TikTok post URL. It does not require an email address. Photographs are kept private until moderation and are published only when approved.
A random browser token allows one community rating per photograph to be updated without creating an account. Home Coffee Index stores a one-way hash of that token with the score; it is not used to identify you across other websites. Do not upload faces, children, addresses or private information, and remove location metadata from the image before uploading.
Your choices and rights
You can reject optional services in the privacy panel. To change a saved choice, clear site data for homecoffeeindex.co.uk in your browser and reload the page. You may ask for access, correction or deletion of a stored newsletter address, marketplace submission, buyer alert, community photograph or information associated with a message you sent.
