Safe first checks

Describe the symptom before choosing the fix.

Poor coffee, blocked flow and electrical faults do not belong in the same troubleshooting bucket. Start with the manual, isolate the symptom and stop when the machine is unsafe.

Independent general guidance · check the manual for your exact machine
01 · Coffee

Taste problems often start outside the machine.

Beans, grind, dose, yield and water can create a bad cup even when the hardware is working correctly.

02 · Flow

A blockage needs a safe boundary.

Check approved removable parts and cleaning prompts; do not open pressurised or electrical systems.

03 · Safety

Leaks and electrical symptoms end the home diagnosis.

Unplug the machine when safe and contact the maker or a qualified repairer.

01

Coffee runs too quickly or slowly

On portafilter machines, grind, dose and puck preparation are common causes. On automatic machines, use only the adjustment process the manual describes.

  • Confirm the basket or brew group is clean
  • Change grind in small steps
  • Do not force blocked controls or parts
02

Milk will not texture

Check that the machine is in the correct steam mode, fully heated and using clear steam holes or correctly assembled milk parts.

  • Purge the wand safely
  • Clean dried milk from removable parts
  • Check seals and tubes against the manual diagram
03

The machine asks for cleaning repeatedly

A cycle may not have completed, a filter setting may be wrong or a tray, tank or brew group may not be seated correctly.

  • Complete every rinse stage
  • Refill beyond the required level
  • Reset only as the manual instructs
04

Leaks, burning smells or electrical faults

Stop using the machine. Water near electrical parts, damaged cables, smoke, burning smells or repeated breaker trips require qualified attention.

  • Switch off and unplug when safe
  • Do not remove covers
  • Use the warranty or an authorised repair route
Do not troubleshoot pressurised internals

Boilers, steam paths, capacitors and mains wiring can remain hazardous after switch-off. Home checks should stop at user-removable parts and documented procedures.
