First-day checklist

Set the water before chasing the coffee.

A careful first setup prevents avoidable scale prompts, grinder confusion and disappointing first drinks. Keep the box until the machine has completed its first full routine.

Independent general guidance · check the manual for your exact machine
01 · Inspect

Check the machine before powering it.

Remove transit material, inspect the cable and confirm every listed part is present and undamaged.

02 · Configure

Enter water hardness and fit the filter.

Use the supplied test and prime compatible filters exactly as the manual describes.

03 · Flush

Complete the first-rinse programme.

Run the required water and steam cycles before adding coffee or milk.

01

Unpack and place safely

Use a level, dry counter with the required ventilation and access. Do not use a damaged machine or cable.

  • Remove every transport insert
  • Wash approved removable parts
  • Keep labels, serial details and packaging
02

Set up the water system

Test hardness, rinse and fill the tank, install a compatible filter where used and enter the correct setting before the first cycle.

  • Use fresh cold water suitable for the machine
  • Prime the filter to remove trapped air
  • Seat the tank fully
03

Flush and heat

Run the manufacturer’s initial rinse sequence. A new grinder or brew path may need several cycles before the first drink represents normal use.

  • Place a large container under the outlets
  • Complete hot-water and steam steps
  • Do not interrupt firmware or rinse prompts
04

Start the grinder in the middle

Use a sensible middle setting unless the manual specifies otherwise. Make small changes while the grinder is running when that is the documented method.

  • Use fresh beans without foreign objects
  • Expect a few setup doses
  • Record the starting setting
05

Register and create the care record

Save the receipt, serial number, filter date and first cleaning date. Registration may simplify warranty support but does not replace proof of purchase.

  • Photograph the serial label
  • Add filter and cleaning reminders
  • Read the safety and descaling sections
The manual wins

First-use sequences differ. Follow the exact order for filling, filtering, flushing and grinder adjustment on your model.
